Rolf Peter Ingvar Storm (born 27 August 1953), known professionally as Peter Stormare (Swedish: [ˈpěːtɛr ˈstɔ̂rːmarɛ] ), is a Swedish actor, musician, playwright, and theatre director. He is known for his work as Gaear Grimsrud in Fargo (1996) and John Abruzzi on Prison Break (2005–2007).

Peter Stormare was born in Arbrå, Gävleborgs län, Sweden, to Gunhild (Holm) and Karl Ingvar Storm. He began his acting career at the Royal National Theatre of Sweden, performing for eleven years. In 1990 he became the Associate Artistic Director at the Tokyo Globe Theatre and directed productions of many Shakespeare plays, including "Hamlet". Directed by Andy Ackerman.

Stormare's first series regular role came on "Watching Ellie" (NBC, 2002-2003), the ill fated "Seinfeld" (NBC, 1989-1998) follow up for Julia Louis-Drefuss. More successful was his next series Stormare was born in Kumla, Närke, Sweden, the son of Teodolinda (née Laparelli) and Renato Storm. He grew up in Arbrå , Hälsingland , originally named Rolf Peter Ingvar Storm . He changed his surname when he discovered he shared it with a senior student at the acting academy.
